Loving our first trip of season. Worked on water heater today. Think thermostats shot.

Today we replaced missing screws on ceiling fan, replaced lightbulb on range hood, learned how to use new washer/dryer combo, hooked up outside grill and put up towel bars and bathrobe hooks. All things considered it's been an easy switch from our Bumper Pull to this Fifth Wheel trailer. Took excess usable items (some still in package) to laundry room in a box labeled "looking for a home". Good day, DH and I didn't argue once over how the towel bars should go up or how to get the grill connected.

Honestly Red - we have the tripod, OC's step stabilizer and the X-chocks and we are really good. MAYBE we will install the BAL's on the rear but right now we are not noticing any rocking and rolling "D

Bob - thanks! I'll have to look up OC's stabilizer.

Towed it 11 hours on our way out to Moab. Stopped in Santa Rosa, NM for the night. Just finished our first dinner in the trailer!
Another 10 hour tow tomorrow.

Spent all afternoon getting three more batteries all cabled up and installed, dual battery switch in place, ran cables up to my 1250W inverter in the bedroom.

That took a lot longer than it should have, but I'm quite pleased with the results.

Installed the PI 50 amp EMS system. Took about 45 minutes of struggling with the #6 but it's in.

I finally got TV working again in my TT. I replaced the coax from the antenna base and the F connectors on the ends of the run from the booster and antenna base... only to find that the new Jack Antenna was bad. The cables were bad... no 12 dc to them until I did all this but the antenna still didn't power up. Even with a known good cable that I pulled from the TV in the house and the booster that came with it, no light. DW ran back to Camping World and swapped it out... good thing we live only 6 miles from the store that's open on Sundays.

Project 2 was to actually mount the TV rather than pack and unpack it each time we want to watch. The stoopid TV we have did not fit the walk mount we had purchased yesterday so Plan B was activated. Our TT is old enough to have a space and swivel shelf for a tube TV. I took apart the base and figured I could drill through it and the shelf and just bolt it down. A few Eye Bolts in the corner of the cabinet and a bungee connect to each of them and around the TV and it's not going anywhere. I may replace the bungee with a strap instead so it doesn't have any movement.

Time to mop the roof and UV protect it.

What did you do to your camper today?

I'm flabbergasted at how 1990's the TV connections are in these rigs. My first TT (2006) only had cable and OTA antenna on the roof. The new 5er has a nice Toshiba HD set with 3 HDMI ports on it...yet the trailer makes no use of them. It's got old RCA jacks in the entertainment system, as well as the coax cable and antenna jack.

We brought our BluRay player with us, and I had to run the HDMI cable around the front of the cabinet and grope around behind the set to find the port.

I'm going to take out the hokey RCA component jacks and put in a HDMI socket port instead, and wire those into the TV. Something like this should do nicely.

I need to figure out how to unmount the TV first.

Oh... What We Are Doing Today in Our RV: hunkering down. 30+ MPH winds forecast today along our travel route with gusts to 50. I do not want one of you traveling behind me and posting a tragic video on YouTube of the winds dumping me over. :-) 25+ MPH side winds yesterday were bad enough.

It's snowing here so no work on the 5er. They still say 8-10 inches more to come!

started assembling and installing my home made "JT Strong Arm Stabilizers". Will be at least as sturdy for about $25 instead of $250. Will be sure to post pics once done.

There is no surge protection provided as OEM. The Progressive Industries EMS covers the following;

High/Low Voltage Protection
Whenever AC power falls below 104 volts, or rises above 132 volts, the EMS automatically shuts down power to the RV. The EMS will monitor the power and once the AC power rises above 104 volts, or drops below the 132 volt level, the time delay indicator flashes for the preset time and then automatically restores power to the RV.
Time Delay for A/C Compressor
If AC power is interrupted, or the EMS detects a fault condition, the built in time delay is activated. There are two settings on the EMS: one is 136 seconds (02:16), and the other is 15 seconds. Consult your air conditioner manual to see if it has a time delay built in. If so, use the 15 second delay, if not; use the 136-second delay. The factory setting is 15 seconds.
5 Mode Surge Protection
This feature provides full surge protection L-N, L-N, L-G, L-L and N-G. Total Joule rating is
3,580 and 88,000A surge current. Response time of <1 nano second.
Surge Indicator
In the event of a power surge and the surge protector circuit is damaged within the EMS, L-N or L-G, the digital display error code will read E-10. This indicates that the EMS needs to be serviced.
Reverse Polarity Protection
If AC power is a reverse polarity condition, the EMS will not allow power to the RV and the
error code will read E1.
Open Neutral Protection
If AC power has an open neutral condition, the display will not light, and the EMS will not allow
power to the RV.
Open Ground Protection
If AC power has an open ground condition, the EMS will read an error code of E2, and power
will not be allowed to the RV.
AC Frequency Protection
If AC power frequency deviates plus/minus 9 hertz from 60 cycles per second, the EMS will shut down AC power. An Error Code of E7 will be displayed when the frequency is high; and an Error Code of E8 will be displayed when frequency is low.
Accidental 240V Protection
If 240 volts is detected when plugging into AC power, the EMS will NOT allow power to the RV. If this condition occurs while power is applied to the RV, the EMS shuts off power instantly. The display will read the voltage and E-3 for the error. (NEVER BYPASS THE EMS WHEN THIS OCCURS.)
Remote Display
Continuously scrolls the AC power information, including voltage, current, frequency,
error codes and previous errors. Each reading is displayed for two (2) seconds.
Previous Error Code
This feature tells the user what the previous error was and why power was interrupted to the RV. To read a Previous Error Code, put a “P” in front of the “E” code. This is only displayed if an actual error occurs. The error is deleted when the power is disconnected from the EMS. .
Bypass
This switch is located on the remote panel, and allows the user to bypass the computer circuit in the EMS in the event of computer failure, this allowing AC power into the RV. This does not disable the surge protection portion of the EMS; however, all other features are disabled.
Modular Design
Replacement parts are designed for simple plug and play, making repairs extremely user friendly.
Microprocessor Controlled
The computer and remote display are driven by state of the art microprocessors that are programmed with software to drive the entire EMS unit.

Installed the 50 amp surge protector, also installed 4 hooks in the front compartment for cords and hoses and made some jack pads out of pressure treated 4x4's

Where are you? I want to make she we stay away. We're on a "bucket list" trip. Currently in Gulf Shores, AL and moving on to Baton Rouge, LA tomorrow. Hope to make it to CA by end of month and then - who knows. Just want to stay well clear of bad weather, if possible.
