Labor day weekend we installed bug screens for the fridge vents. Spent all last week on the phone playing phone tag with the dealership regarding needing to send my Sabre back to the factory. Currently waiting on the service manager to return from sick leave.

Thanks for the advise. A little late now, but I think everything went OK. Drove it 150 miles yesterday and no apparent problems. I don't understand why EZ lube recommends you do it the way I did and others such as yourself speak of problems getting into brake problems. I'm not a wheel and axle man and without training would think I would get into more problems by removing the bearings. Wish there was someone I knew that could work with me one time removing, inspecting and repacking my bearings.

Speaking only from my own experience, I only remove/repack every 3 years and use the EZ-Lube Zerk fittings for lubrication before every trip.

The biggest mistakes I see people who complain about the system stem more from misunderstanding about the system, service technician incompetence (both in using the system and normal bearing repack and brake inspection), and Zerk fitting failures (almost in that order).

If used as directed in the EZ-Lube manual (NEVER use compressed air grease guns is a warning) the system will continually flush out dirty partially cooked grease from the bearings regularly and you will always have fresh grease for every trip.

When removing the hub for brake inspections or bearing packing, a careless mechanic can scratch/tear the just installed or inspected rear grease lip seal on the axle threads when replacing the hub. This seal damage will defeat the EZ-Lube system by allowing even the low pressure grease from a hand pumped gun to escape the rear lip seal into the brake area.

Zerk fittings are by their nature subject to failure from dirt, heat, and the tiny spring behind the ball. If, when using a hand held grease gun, the Zerk will not "take grease," it must be removed and flushed to make sure it is not broken. If broken, it needs to be replaced and they are CHEAP. I always carry a few spares.

Using a "ZERK BLASTER" or similar device to "blast" grease into a plugged Zerk can cause dirt to be pushed into the axle core at the least and can overpressure the system failing the rear lip seal.

Pump SLOOOOWWWLY.........this will also lessen the chance that you will blow past the seal. Pumping too fast and/or rapidly can have the same effect as using air powered grease gun. I follow this practice and have never had a "blowout".

Great tip.

Also the grease gun tips are adjustable for tension on the Zerk. I never knew that and wasted a lot of grease blowing out the sides of the Zerk before someone tipped me off.

Yesterday morning I placed the additional 2" of styrofoam under the nose cap to remove the large dent / cave in at the top half of the nose. I think this was caused by not enough support under the cap and heat combo.

Replaced the crap LED awning lights with a new RGB warm white strip. Added an LED light to the pass through storage so I can see what I'm doing at night. Just have to finish running the awning wire. It was two wire factory and the new strip is five wire. I've heard of people using the factory wiring and trying to waterproof the control box since they had to mount it in the awning rails, but I'm just going to run the new wire and mount it inside the storage compartment. That way I don't have to worry about water, can use the factory porch light switch, and use the controller to change brightness and whatnot if I want to.

This evening I finally put up a shelf for our coffee pot to the right of the kitchen area, over to foot of the bed. Being able to move the Kuerig off the stove top makes a world of difference in counter space and clutter. Plus, now I have a place for my BlackBerry which is also my alarm clock!
