What did you do to your camper today?
Wow. I'm must be one of the lucky few. Our GMC Denali truck came ready to roll. All we did was plug in the trailer and took off down the road.

I'm not sure why you are describing wiring harnesses, my 2010 came with 2 wires and that is what I've always heard described by others. I popped the cover of the fuse block, unwrapped the 2 wires near the fire wall (not part of any harness) and put the ring terminals on the exposed posts at the front edge of the fuse block, adding 2 nuts to lock them down. No lifting of the handles and removing the whole fuse block assembly.
Whether the buyer tows or not, my point is that it would be cheaper for the factory to attach those 2 wires during the initial assembly (by building them into the other wiring harnesses), and cheaper always rules. My only guess is it is a gift for the dealers so they can charge $100 for 5 minutes of work.

As for that, the lock nuts on my B&W turned out to be a PITA. One of the lock nuts seized up and I ended up breaking the bolt to get it off. On the bright-side, that was my first broken bolt ever.

I just went and checked my truck plug since it had been a while since i had checked my + at the plug.
- After sitting for a week, with engine off & key off, it was at 12.42 v. (I think i need to check my water in my batteries).
- with engine on, i had 14.44 v at the plug. After running for bit and shutting the truck back off i was back up to 12.67

I don't know is that bad? I let my truck sit for over a month and went to start it, I had to jump it, being no battery expert I took it to Napa, they put there print out meter on the two batteries they both showed good. He told me to start it once a month, does that sound right to you? He said that it was natural and there is absolutely nothing wrong. Those batteries are like 175 each, and was told if one go's bad I should replace them both, so now I started to use the truck 1 day a month and get it good and hot. Is this true MillerTime?

I would still check and make sure the 12v charge wire was hot. My 05 Silverado came with everything also, but no 40a fuse in the 12v charge slot in the under hood fuse box.

gljurczyk - All lead-acid batteries self-discharge while sitting even with no load, and it is worse in vehicles where radio memory and other accessories can draw milliamps more each day. They should be topped off every 30 days, possibly more often due to accessories, and driving a 3rd car/truck to work once or twice a month is a good solution.
MillerTime - 12.42 is 80% SOC, which isn't good after just a week. Normal self-discharge shouldn't be more than 12.5 volts or about 90% SOC after 30 days. Either your batteries are badly sulphated (from not being charged often enough) and/or you have something in the truck that is a fairly large phantom load.

Ah, they are both 3 year old walmart batteries. And during the summer they seem to loose water, and have residue around the caps. I had one pair from walmart that didn't last a year cause they leaked out so much water, even staining the cement, but they had 1 year free replacement, so i got them again. I think wally world batts are fine for gas, but even the "maxx" ones like i got wont hold up for a diesel.
I'm gonna check em in a few minutes, been working on a couple other things and got distracted from doing it earlier.

On my Silverado, the aux power line was always hot, too. I installed a relay in the aux power line with a switch in the cab so I can turn it off. I don't want to go into a museum, or take a boat ride, or some such thing that takes all day and then come out and find out that some failure in the trailer sucked the truck battery dry. Probably not a high-probability concern, but I feel better.

Dropped it at my dealer for a few final repairs, found out the service writer that I think has been a big part of the issue no longer works there.
Rear window, side flashing, brake light has lost a few LEDs, basement door. They're going to try finding out why the nose gets water in it.
We'll see what happens.

Replaced blackwater vacuum breaker. Washed the roof and treated with protectant. Going to wash unit tomorrow, weather permitting.

Yep, both batteries were low on water. 1 had 5 cells low and the other 4 cells low. It was still covering the plates, but i had to add about 20oz to bring them up. Hope that helps.?

Black - Honeywell Digital Thermostats
Installed two Honeywell Digital Thermostats, in the Rockwood.
You can get them in Black with a bit of work, details here.

Sounds like they are being overcharged badly, causing the water to bubble out. Check the voltage on your alternator, I'd be the problem is there, not the batteries. Batteries don't lose electrolyte by themselves.
Edit: your later post #2495 confirms this.

What did you do to your camper today?
While at Bass Pro Shops over the weekend, I bought a 5 in 1 Professional Weather Station. I am thinking about using the outside TV mount for the sensor. (Just another toy - haha)
