I agree they are not cheap units but we felt worth the investment, it's nice to see they slow the build down and are not rushing units out the door. Deals are out there but it does take time to find them plus be willing to travel to where they are.

Why travel to where they are when we all can just travel to where you are and take a tour?

to each his own and every body has their own needs. we have a front living room 5th wheel (cardinal 3825fl) and we bought it for a very specific reason that many people will not be able to relate to. but it was important to us. i am 6'7" tall and we went to an rv show and tried to simply get into nearly each 5th wheel at the show. the typical 5th wheel requires you to climb up the outside stairs and then make a right hand turn to go up some inside stairs to enter the front bedroom. invariably they put a door at the top of the stairs that i hit my head on and the front bedroom ceiling was so low that one i got into the bedroom i could not stand up without hitting the ceiling. if you go into our cardinal you enter from the outside and make the right hand turn to climb up to the living room. there is no door at the top of the stairs and the living room ceiling is tall enough that i can walk anywhere without hitting the ceiling. like i said, to each his own, but for us, this is perfect!

ps i also have problems with rv's that claim to have a high ceiling and then install a ceiling fan that has blades that drop down to about forehead level. seems like it negates the advantage of the high ceiling. something tells me that rv designers are maybe 5'9" tall.

Any way, it had a up stairs living with bed in back. But what we really liked is that the stairs going up were on the opposite side from the door. Another thing it had was a railing that separated the kitchen from the up stairs not cabinets.

Might be a far stretch but does anyone know who makes something like this?

Looks like currently the Keystone Cougar has the floor plan you're looking for but they replaced the railing with cabinets. Model 367FLS

I was intrigued by your question so I did some research. FINALLY I decided on a simple old Google search for "front living room fifth wheel".

Among the ones I found were this one:

https://rv.campingworld.com/rvdetail...40k-BIL1474057

Without knowing the size or make it seems to fit what you described, front living, bedroom in rear, steps on opposite side from door.

You will be amazed at what info Google can provide.

You might also stop in to a couple RV dealers and tell them what you want, they should know their lines well enough to help you find what you want.

GOOD LUCK, let us know how the search goes

Damn, you beat me to it before I went through the entire thread

Keystone actually makes several that fit the bill. The all end in "FL" (front living)

Thanks everyone, now I am seeing a lot more then what I could find. I am 6'6 and I too like the FL. Just planning for the future. I seen some with a bathroom on top and even a kitchen. Did not like that. Nice to see that they do make all kinds for all different taste.

I like that one, thanks. Although, my sister and her husband have a cougar and their front cap is all fading just after two years. I am concerned about that. But, that is in another thread I saw.

One thing to keep in mind, most FL units have small outside storage bins, I like the floor plan just did not want to loose that much outside storage.

The Front Living room Heartland Bighorn or Landmark have a lot of storage under the raised rear bedroom with a sliding centre section on several out of the back. Great trailers, I own a Bighorn regular bedroom model.

Just got a Forest River Rockwood Signature Ultra Light 8297s fifth in April. Has the setup you described and loving ours. Might take a look at it on their website and you tube has a few videos about it.

Front living yes.. but not like what OP described. He was looking for a FL setup that has steps opposite the entry door, and a railing leading up to the steps.

It's a unique setup that I hadn't see but once in the Primetime Sanibel I saw.

This is of no help to the OP.
