Aaaargh!

I was reminded today about the worst part of owning an RV GPS, updating the darn thing. Today it took one hour and forty-five minutes to update, it was a combined software and map update. Don't get me wrong, I like the GPS I have especially the traffic updates while on the road, I just don't like the time it takes to update.

Ounce of prevention......
Better to spend that hour & fortyfive now than possibly an hour & fortyfive or more on the wrong road or other issues later. Just imagine still having to use paper maps.

I always carry an road atlas with me. I like to get the BIG PICTURE every so often when the road ahead is congested especially when at a stand still.

Thanks for reminding me. Haven't done that in some time and I've got a lot of time on my hands at the moment.

YES... unbelievable to me that some drive using GPS and have absolutely NO IDEA of the BIG PICTURE on how you are going to get there. I always spend a little time the night before driving to go over the route, if not on a paper map, then certainly on a google map and give myself some visual cues on about where I am and what routes I am going to use to get there.
