Blythewood SC to Belton TX this fall

Hey guys, wife, dog, and myself are planning to head to Belton TX again this fall. We went in the fall of 2018 for a BBQ group get together that I belong to. We motered from here to there and back in 2 days both ways. This year we're planning on making it a 2 week trip. Planning on stopping 2 nights on the road instead of just one like last time. Any suggestions or cool places to stay. Wifey wants to do some fun things on the way this time. We stopped at Meridian East/Toomsuba KOA to and from to sleep, but not much around there to do. I was happy just to sit at a picnic table and have a cold Yuenglin. Thanks in advance for some ideas.

We will be traveling along I-20.

I can't help much on fun things to do along the way but highly recommend you NOT take I 20 thru Bossier and Shreveport. You will cuss the entire way and then some. As you approach Bossier City, take I 220W. Adds a couple of miles but better roadway.

LoL! Found that out last time! I think part of Shreveport's economy is fueled by items shaken out of truck beds on the interstate. As soon as we cleared it I pulled over and made sure everything was ok with the truck and trailer. I saw extension ladders and numerous items on the side of the interstate. Thanks for the tip!
