I'll be staying at the WinStar RV park the night of Dec 23. On my way to Austin, TX for Christmas week at McKinney Falls State Park. First night is free for new player's club card members. I'm told it has some very good restaurants with inexpensive prices. I'll definitely spend some money in the casino for letting me stay for free. Normal price for back-in spot is $30, pull-through is $40.
Regarding staying in casino RV parks ... I don't see anything wrong with that, not sure why anyone would complain about a level spot with full hookups for under $50. As far as casino meals I've had very good, very bad and everything in between. I can say the exact same thing about joints like Ruth Chris' Steakhouse. One of the worst steaks I've ever eaten was at a Ruth Chris' in Chicago. $120 steak, too. Pretty sure there were still marks on it where the jockey whipped it.
Buffets ... still going strong here in Kansas, but not at the state-owned casinos. Those casinos also still allow indoor smoking, which is awful (and I'm a smoker!). It's the reason I never go to them. I will warn you that I've heard the Kansas Star casino south of Wichita is horrible for RVers. Doesn't surprise me, this state government rarely gets anything right.
