Casinos and RV Parks

Recently stayed here. Very nice place. Thought I would share a quick little video I shot. Yes my FR3 30DS is in the thumbnail. LOL

that looks like a nice place. I believe more and more casinos are going to this type of area to attract the RVer and their wallets.

Lots of concrete and blacktop! Looks more like an RV parking lot for a gambling casino than it does an RV park. Thank goodness we don't have those in Alaska.

Absolutely. Most allow RV parking in their lots but having a regular RV park next door was great. 15 bucks a night in off season. Water, electric, no sewer. The Whole trip was a blast. 1800 miles and 4 weeks. The FR3 was flawless.

Sorry where is this? Did I miss the address? Can campers enjoy the pool? Do you have to use the casino?

Our local Indian Casino near Spokane has one as well. Looks really nice but never stayed there. They allow just parking in one of their lots as well for free.

The campground for the Turning Stone casino in New York State is a must see.

Nobody ever forces you to use the casinos, but the buildings are laid out so you can't avoid walking through them. Not bad now that smoking is banned.

The RV Park is only a few years old in Airway Heights. Stayed there the first year of opening. A nice all concrete full hookup type campground. It is about $65 a night though. A lot of casinos are charging more for what used to be a bargain. (ex. Winstar World Casino Thackerville, OK. $30-$100 a night).

I have stayed at several casino RV parks with my sister and her husband while moving around the country with their RV. Some are definitely nicer than others with full hookups, some are just a parking space in the casino parking lot. The nicer RV parks are usually newer or updated, clean and relatively quiet. They are also quite affordable and work well for us for just a night or 2 stop.

As others have said, you aren't required to partake of the casino but generally, it is made easy with the casinos offering a shuttle van/golf cart kind of thing to get you back and forth if you don't want to/opt not to walk. We have gone into the casino to have dinner in a restaurant (pre-covid) in the evening.

Many of the casinos have a time limit for the number of nights one can stay. There have been sightseeing opportunities near more than one of the casino RV parks we have stayed in.

I think the casino RV parks that are actually RV parks and not just a parking lot, are worth the cost for one night.

We stayed at the Luxor mid week in Vegas and they had free parking for the RV and the room IN the hotel was luxurious and LESS than the RV parks around were charging.
We like staying in the Casino lots when journeying as they are often cheap or free and you can always get a decent meal and sometimes and excellent one with entertainment.

I have stayed at at least 5 MN casinos and 1 in each WI and Iowa. Some are nothing much more than a Target parking lot and to me horrible. Another one we have been going to for 19 years in the past was rated a 5 star resort. Spots are separated with some grass, trees and bushes. They all had tar pads with electric, water, sewer, WiFi, and cable. They run shuttles 24 hours a day to the casino but only on the weekends now. They don't offer the security like before. We loved the Grill and buffet, but again not anymore - can't get anything anymore at 3:00p in the afternoon. They had live bands 6 nights a week with traveling bands that were excellent, now just local bands that you could find better as a garage band practice. They always had dancing and special things to see. Everyone was encouraged to get on the dance floor and you got to dance with anyone there. We got to know one particular band and have seen them 58 different nights. They would always spend some time with us visiting during their intermission.

They have an outdoor pool and any of the other 3 indoor pools if you desire. The outdoor amphitheater featured by some of the biggest names in entertainment. Lately only about twice a summer and staying in the RV park, the rates are in the hundreds of dollars a night, compared to the normal $40 a night. Now for staying there the only thing for the park rates you get to sit under your awning.

Most of the fun has been gone now for 2 summers with Covid, but I'll bet the RV resort, having gotten by with such loss it is doubtful much of it will be coming back. It is sad and I'll miss it all.

Winstar Casino in Olkahoma

One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at is a part of the Winstar Casino on the Oklahoma Texas border on I35. Very parklike with huge level spots. I believe it was $19.00.

I don't hesitate to use a casino parking lot if allowed. If close to the highway I'm traveling on and i get there early enough for a space, there's nothing wrong with a free spot for the night. Generally quieter than rest areas/truck stops and have security patrolling all night.

I've had some nice meals where I've stopped too.

YES! We stayed there one night last September, and it was absolutely fantastic. Spacious paved sites, nice landscaping, lots of grass and trees, miles of walking trails, a stocked fishing pond, and of course, free shuttle to the casino. No requirement to go to the casino. It was clearly all the campground that casino profits could buy.

I really like the Seven Feathers Casino in Oregon on I-5. I have stayed there many times traveling to Seattle. They allow RVs. Once I slept in a sailboat on a trailer. Great buffet inside, live music, good drinks. Excellent coffee at the fuel station.

I was hoping no one would mention it!

I might have to check that out. It has been *many* years since I have used "great" and "buffet" in the same sentence.
