I have my antennae mounted on a bracket attached to the inside lip of the fender where it meets the hood. It gets good ground that way, it is opposite my radio antennae so it looks decent, and no paint scratched or ugly holes showing somewhere on the outside of the truck.....you would have to raise the hood to see the mounting screw holes.
It "gets out" fairly well (a couple of miles), so I can keep up with local traffic concerns without getting too much CB jibber jabber from further away.
I use a Cobra 19 Ultra that has been in several of my vehicles over the last 20 years.
