Great Falls to Livingston

Is US 89 a good RV route from Great Falls to Livingston? I am actually going to Columbus, Mt. Google maps says take 87 to 191 to I-90. The difference time wise going US 89 is only 15 minutes but it seems like the US 89 route would be more scenic. If I go US 89 is there anything I need to be aware of?

My old stomping grounds. Highway 89 all the way down to Livingston is a scenic drive and the roadway varies from good to not bad all the way through. It's a steady pull going up to Monarch and an easy downgrade to White Sulphur Springs. White Sulphur to Livingston is an easy run.
87 and 191 is heavier traveled with lots of truck traffic. But no real hasr pulls or downhills along that route.

Thanks for the reply. I made the trip day before yesterday. Like you said nice easy drive and very little traffic.

I'm glad it went well for you. The other way is open plains country and not too scenic. Back in the 70's I worked on a ranch east of Clyde Park, beautiful cow country but the winters can be tough on man and beast.
