Got a notion to make a run from Arizona down to Florida after the first of the year. Maybe all the way down to Key West just to say I've been there. Got some friends in Pensacola I can stay with for a week or two also.

Any thoughts and or advice?

That's high season here , many campgrounds are already booked . Try and plan your south Florida keys stay now and leave plenty of drive time from Pensacola to the keys. That drive takes 2 days for me.

Open your wallet and have a great time. I vacationed in Key West 4 times back in the 90's and had a blast every time, but Florida is pricey in the winter time. Also watch out for idiots on the road.

I was there last month and stayed at Boyd's Key West, 15 minutes from Duval St. $95 a day for a back in site and that's off season. Worth every penny to me, but I live in Central Fl., so I do S Florida off season, cheaper, go more North after Sept.

Hey, I'm a Floridian, born and raised here. Yea, I'm the one.

For your information most of those 'idiots' are snow birds and vacationers..

I know about all those idiot tourists. I was dodging them all the way to Alaska and back this summer. Kind of like here in Arizona in the winter when all the snowbirds flock in.
