Looking for a good destination between San Diego and Grand Rapids??

Family, about 7 RVs, looking for a good campground/meeting point between San Diego, CA and mid-Michigan. We're in the planning stage for next year. Any suggestions?

Custer State Park - look around the Blue Bell Campground area. You have the badlands, Mt Rushmore, Needles Hwy, Spearfish, awesome hiking, swimming, and really nice campgrounds. It's about halfway - 18-20 hours from Michigan.

I don't know what it is from San Diego, but looks to be about halfway.

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks there last year. Weather is best in Late-June to Mid-July.

Thanks wanderlust. That's an area I thought of too. I hated the campground at Rushmore but there should be some other ones around there.

Custer State Park is nothing like Mt Rushmore. The sites are private, there is so much wildlife, and I thought the shower houses were nice. The Blue Bell area has a lodge actually, so if you have any non-RVers, they can join you as well.

I will PM you the details (our site number and some maps of the area)

I happened to have a one day trip to that area about 5 years ago while visiting relatives in Wyoming. All of the areas so much that one day I hope to move there for the summer and work. it's a great area to hang out.
