Louisiana to Red Lodge Montana
Looking for some information for an upcoming trip to Montana. I am familiar with the route up to catching 25 north, the trucker atlas shows best route as
25 N to Casper,
then 26 to Shoshone,
20 to Thermopolis,
120 to Cody
Then 14 / 294 / 72 to Red Lodge.
Are there any spots that are not recommended for a 40' class A towing a f-150?
Any severe down grades? ( I have been down Vail Pass, any worse than that)
RV Park recommendations ( traveling with 5 grandchildren ages 6 to 13)
Fuel stop availability
Also are there any other recommended routes, the tripod starting from SE Louisiana.
Thanks in advance.

Just saw that Montana has 14 day quarantine for anyone from out of state. Sorry to not address the question you asked

I'd probably take I 35 to I 70 to Denver. It's about 50 more miles, but the driving time is about the same. I've traveled that route and there are no challenging mountains and the services are good.
Once you get to I25 in Denver, I can't help. It's been too long and I just don't remember.

The 14 day quarantine ends June 1st, I believe, with folks still being asked to keep their distance and wear masks where appropriate. Gathering size goes to 50. Restaurants, etc open although at reduced capacity. The state will still set the overall guidelines with some flexibility by county/city. There is a fairly nice rv park near Red Lodge right on the creek and trees, I believe just a couple of miles from town. There are a number of forest service campgrounds near as well, no hookups and I’m not sure their status then.

Beartooth/Chief Joseph/ Lamar Valley on the motorcycle was one of the best days of my life! The surprise was, it is almost 2 hours from Red Lodge to Yellowstone park with stops for scenery viewing.

FWIW, we travelled from Casper to Cody with our trailer and had no issues with it, for grade or anything. Thermopolis has some nice hot springs at it, which made for a great break. No issues for gas that we hit either. We stopped in Cody at the Buffalo Bill Museum and wished we had more time.
Here's an article about Yellowstone and the Red Lodge route.
