PA to AZ in early January 2020

I'm assuming a lot of you Keystone State RV'ers have already done it. We're planning on leaving Central PA JAN 06 to get to Scottsdale by JAN 16.

The question is to go mostly south first to get to warmer latitudes (Charleston or JAX), then hang a right, or just follow the Google magenta line through the midwest.

What have your experiences been?

Thanks,

BC

I drove just my car 2 winters ago around the same time frame to New Mexico, planned route was right out I-70 to Colorado the south towards Colorado Springs. Of course weather is the big factor, I got lucky with only rain in Illinois but they were calling for a ice storm at night so I pushed thru to Mo. to beat it. Made the trip in 3 days but not towing anything was a breeze. If towing I would probably take the southern route just to be safe. Good luck on your choice.

I'm a weather sissy. I wouldn't take my rig through the midwest in January.
