Route thru Dallas
Sitting in Texarkana heading West on 30. What is the best way to get through Dallas heading to the other side of Texas. Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is one. I30 leads to I20 and that is probably your fastest route. Rush hour should be over by the time you get there.
Unless you're heading to north Texas.

It's all going to depend on the time of day you are coming through. It's been a while, and I can't account for any construction, but if you come through between 10am and 2pm (or so), you're probably best just driving straight through on I-30. Your other best option would be taking I-635 south and hitting I-20 and across. Again, it's been a while, but I suspect things have not changed that much.

I would say take 635 south to 20 and go around the south side of the city. Going through the middle is likely to have traffic any time of the day, 635 north is farther and gets kind of weird up around DFW airport plus you would have airport traffic to deal with.

I live in the Dallas area. My recommendation would be to take I30 to I635, then head west (south) on 635 until you hit I20. Then take I20 all the way across the Metroplex. Probably the least "messed up" route through the Metroplex. Then again, all it will take is one accident ahead of you and the any of the roads will be screwed up. Drive safe.

The Waze app will give you the most up to date traffic and accident info with fastest route times.

X2, there really is no "great" option but this one is usually the least objectionable.

This is what we did and it was a breeze but nothing to compare it to but it worked for us. Sitting in Weatherford tonight plotting tomorrows trip down 20 to El Paso. We have time so we will be looking for anything interesting to look at. Thanks to all and extra kudos to GSYKORA.

Dallas
Do it at non-prime time. Between 10 and 4 during the week.
