We stayed at Whispering Hills in Georgetown Kentucky. It was a nice park about 25 miles from the Ark Encounter

X2 on the Whispering Hills in Georgetown. We enjoyed our stay although we had a lot of rain while there and sites 2nd row back from lake can be very soggy. Great shower house by the way.

Kentucky Horse Park is a bit farther than Georgetown, closer to Lexington. W/E. I've stayed there several times. The Horse Park complex is worth visiting. While there, you can also visit the Martha Todd-Lincoln house in Lexington.

Thank you for your quick response. That’s on my bucket list but it won’t be open when we’re passing through that area on our way home from our winter journey. We’re looking for something open in March.

Kentucky Horse Park, including the campground, is open all year. Big Bone Lick SP campground opens March 15th.
