Southern Louisiana (March)

Looking for recommendations on a Campground for 10 days early March that is motorcycle friendly. Last year was the first year that I went south for 3 weeks. I stayed at a campground called Myers Landing near Lake Arthur, LA and wasn't thrilled with it. Price was right and the folks were very friendly though.

I would like a quite place with full hook-ups (30 amp, water, sewer, TV, WiFi).

Palmetto is a new one over by intracoastal city. state parks are your best bet. Chicot is nice. All are motorcycle friendly. Lake fausse point is good.

Can't give a personal recommendation of a park in LA but approx. 10 - 15 miles across the border in MS is a real nice state park in Waveland called Buccaneer State Park. Stayed there last year and made several day trips into LA from there. Would definitely stay there again.

Lake Fausse Point is cool. It's on the levy and there's some very friendly bars, Mcgee's landing and Whisky River. Pat's Waterfront restaurant is at the levy in Henderson. There's swamp tour if that's your thing. Lot of music around, Breaux Bridge is just down the road, Cafe Des Amis great little restaurant for breakfast etc..., Cypress Bayou Casino is a nice lazy day trip from the campground. All paved roads including the campsites, low traffic. Some campsites have individual wharf on the Bayou. It's one of my favorite motorcycle rides from Lafayette. Lafayette is only a 30 miles or so. Campsites are probably around $26 - $30 for full hookups, maybe a little less. Go to Reserve America website.

Thanks for posting those Too Tall!

A month had passed since I first posted this. After a few weeks of no responses I just went and booked a spot at Whispering Meadow in Westlake, LA.
