Planning travel trailer trip to Moab Utah and surrounding area in fall. Leaving from Eastern Kentucky, What routes are better than others, Interstate or US Highways, stops along the way. Thanks

You will need to cross the Colorado mountains coming and going. Either I-70 or Hwy 160 are your best choices. Coming in on Hwy 160 you can stop in Durango, Co and ride the Train to Silverton. Just up the road a ways is Mesa Verde NP. From there on over to Moab is an easy drive.

Leave Moab on Hwy 128 connecting to I-70 then head for home.

We just did that trip last summer. The reverse of what Blackrock suggested, heard I-70 was better going west than east. We went 70W to 128(this is a must drive) to Moab. Stayed at Archview CG. Across the road from road to Canyonlands NP and Dead Horse State Park(another don’t miss), a few miles down road from Arches NP and away from the traffic of Moab. Then south out of Moab to 4 corners, then on to Mesa Verde. From Mesa Verde to Royal Gorge, Cripple Creek, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods then home. By the time we got to Garden of the Gods we had seen enough “rock formations” but it’s a nice drive through the park.
