Thumbs down Thanksgiving Destinations 2022

We are looking for ideas where to go for Thanksgiving. We have been to Branson several times. We spent last Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg. We are looking for a new destination. We live in Southeast Texas.

What kind of place are you looking for and how long do you want to drive to get there?

We’re probably going to be home this year…but will be making a trip to Tucson for New Years.

Have you considered that maybe a destination west would be in order? Tucson and Grand Canyon maybe? Or the Colorado Springs area is nice that time of year, still low enough in elevation that hard snow is unusual that time of year, and lots to see and so. Day trip to Royal Gorge, maybe Durango and take the train ride to Silverton and back? And the Garden of the Gods and old town Colorado Springs are both great places!

Hard to get into but....

Cheyenne Mountain State Park is an AWESOME campground. All of the sites are incredible and it is a peaceful and gorgeous. The only potential negative draw is the fact that using the campground shower facilities cost quarters...otherwise an incredible place to go essentially right next door to the Springs

We had thought about that. It takes us a full day to get across Texas. It would be at least 2 day drive if not more. We just were in Carlsbad 2 months ago.

Dinner at my table eating surf and turf at home hopefully. Been lucky to use the covid excuse the last couple of years but that gig may have run out and looks like it's off to NYC again, but not in an RV.

Something within 10 to 12 hr drive. We 10 to 12 days to stay. We might even do a 2 day drive. We live in Lumberton, Texas.
