Time to Head South
All packed and ready to head south! Two weeks late due to family needs but can’t wait.

Pretty much. Drove 12 hrs first day and “camped” at the Florida Welcome Center. Got a good 7 hrs sleep and then 10 hrs yesterday arriving around 4pm. We normally don’t drive that much enroute but our trip had already been delayed two weeks so we wanted to get down here. We have six stops over the next two months with most legs only 2 hrs.

Always looking for a new stop in Florida!

I am so jealous. One of my dream trips is in late January, go to Disney World for a week, then the Keys for about ten days, then back to Disney World for another week.

Jolly Rodger RV Park on Grassy Key. Key West next then Red Coconut Ft Myers, Endless Summer Naples, Little Manatee SP, Payne Prairie SP, and Manatee Springs SP. Then a few days driveway camping at SIL’s in Tallahassee. TBD after that but thinking about Panhandle if we can find a site. I think we are getting this retirement thing down!

We stayed at Red Coconut back in the day for a month each time. Just finally gave up due to the traffic. Could walk the mile to time square quicker than you could drive it. No place better if you want to walk or park right on the beach tho.

Red Coconut is a sardine can full of RVs. Last time there we could only park our truck at my site if I parked under my awning. They told us to park next door in the little art gallery. We did and they promptly put a note on my windshield saying I was about to be towed!
But we do like to walk and ride bikes.
Agree that it is faster to bike than drive much of the day- especially after around 11 AM. I think I will be able to park on the site I got this time.

Ya. We always stayed on the side away from the beach. And always had space for our car too. We also rented one of their rental for a couple weeks for our kids to join us. Worked well.
