Trailer Village Winter Trip

We haven’t been camping since October and we’ve been itching to get the trailer out. We just booked Trailer Village for the end of Feb.. Any winter Grand Canyon suggestions & tips, things to see/do this time of year?

We just visited for the day. Saw lots of elk around. Trailer Village looks very nice. We did see everything from sunshine rain sleet snow in the day we were at the south rim so be prepared.

So far the extended forecast is showing highs in the 40’s - 50’s and the lows hovering around freezing at night. We’re hoping the park won’t be as crowded this time of year.

Crowds will be pretty small...

Be prepared for cold.

Keep some water in your fresh water tank to use in case of freezing temps.

I stayed at Camper Village just outside of the park in the town of Tusayan, AZ four years ago in January...

Snow was forcast and the park made sure I filled up the fresh water tank as they said that the park water would be turned off at night due to freezing temps.

It did snow the second night we were there...

I love to camp when it's snowing. Keeps the average camper home. Snow at the Canyon is super pretty, as long as the wind is not at blizzard speeds. Enjoy your trip.

When we first booked the trip the extended forecast was cold, but not too bad. Everytime I checked the forecast since it seems to get colder. It looks like it will be below freezing our entire trip. I ordered a heated RV freshwater hose off Amazon and heat tape to put on the park’s water faucet. Being from Southern Nevada we don’t have much snow gear so I also had to order snow suits for the kids. This trip is quickly getting expensive.
