Depends on what you want. We bought into Gettysburg, Pa. On average we stay there about 2 weeks a month from April to November. 3 hour ride for us, but lots to do there if you like history. Have not regretted doing that.

I found these using the Search function with "Travel Resorts of America" as the operator.

We are members for 11 years. It is good if you use it. You must use it to get your money's worth. There are so many members that without the 90day out reservation membership it will be difficult getting a reservation.
I like their properties and the way they are operated. Nice pools, programs for kids, folks to help, good and friendly people, well equipment camp stores and weekend entertainment. They usually do stuff for the holidays. Cookouts, parades, haunted houses, etc.
One of the things I do not like is, there is no exit clause in the contract and only a 24hour period to cancel. You really can not just drop it. Yes, you can pass on to kids but do you really want to be paying your yearly fees when you are older?
The coast to coast is good. In fact, we use it more that the TRA properties. We are now retired and are using our membership more and more.

BEFORE YOU PURCHASE FROM TRA, CHECK ONLINE FOR FOLKS WANTING TO SELL. YOU PAY WHAT THEY ARE ASKING AND A SMALL TRANSFER FEE WITH TRA. SAVE $$$$$.
Check Craig's list and other resort membership for sale sites. TRA will not let yiu know who wants to sell. They want to sell the full ride.

Will try to answer your questions, just PM me.
Good luck

Opt out? Do you mean walk away or put the membership on hold for I think, 2 years for a life event but, you can not use the properties? This was on our last upgrade.

I think I will run from this type of camping. At the cost of this ,it would be cheaper to buy property. Have your own CG with the rules (you) make . 10 acres with a fishing pond and trails to ride on.

I really appreciate all of your replies! Especially Mr. Dan's links to the other threads on the subject! ( in the future I'll use the search function, lesson learned sir!)
Sounds exactly like time shares!
I think I'll pass!
