Has anyone ever walked on the roof of their R-Pod?

Skydiving is legal. How frickin' dangerous is that? What about cliff diving, scuba diving, surfing, auto racing, motocross......the list goes on. And, as someone else mentioned, exactly how much more safe would you be in a Class A? So you're belted in, doesn't do much good when the entire rig disintegrates around you. Vast majority of school buses don't have seat belts. I think riding in the trailer would be fun. Of course, I've never done it, so I might change my mind in short order if I tried it.

If you're trying to justify riding in something like a TT, by all means, go for it. My truck is safety rated for passenger travel. My travel trailer is not.

I wouldn't let my dog ride back there let alone my wife or kids. After learning how these things are constructed, I can't believe they hold up to the forces of the wind. It's no wonder they disintegrate on impact of anything solid.

[sarc]Yes I think riding in a TT is just as safe as riding in a car...[/sarc]

Just pointing out that people do all kinds of dangerous crap all the time and no one throws a fit about it. And I thought it was neat the I could find completely demolished cars to go along with the completely demolished TT pics.

It also takes a lot different of an impact to demolish those cars than to demolish those TT's

A few times our kids would ride in our TT from the CG entrance / check in gate to the camping site, at maybe 10 mph. They would come out laughing about being bounced around !

No way would i allow a family member to ride back there on any roadway !

Wow... OK... Don't know why graphic disaster pictures were needed. We all know you can get killed riding in anything or just walking down the street. The OP just wanted to know what states it was legal in, and to my surprise, quite a few!! Now we all know the legal answer if someone asks or wants to ride in the trailer. Whether it happens or not is entirely up to the individuals involved.

Our dogs ride in the TT. I've even gone as far to buy a camping AC to keep them cool on hot summer days while on the road.

Well, I could look up motorcycle wrecks and really stir the pot. My point is simply that I personally don't think riding in a TT or FW would necessarily be any more dangerous than lot's of other things people do all the time. It's all about perspective. I personally think you're bat "you know what" crazy if you sky dive or surf, but then I've had a motorcycle and also ride ATV's. Some people would have the exact opposite take on it. Plus I like a good debate.

If you want to travel inside the RV, I suggest you purchase a Type A, B or C

This! The DW and I were watching some camping show a while back and this issue was brought up. We both were amazed that it was legal in some states. As such the DW and DS had to make a potty break at check in at Disney. I pulled forward a few times. When they came out they both were not happy.

Class A bus pusher chassis maybe but after a realization that the others are built the same construction as my 5er, I'll keep my family in the dually and never own one of those little motorhomes.

Actually I was being a tad facetious - thus the smiley

Regarding your comment and in all fairness to the Type B & C folks I disagree.

Type B Coaches are really nothing but big van chassis - Ford, Chevy and in some cases Mercedes or a completely custom design (high end Type B's)

Type C - same deal - Ford Chevy, Mercedes or, if you really want to take a look at a AWESOME Type C check this link out!

Dynamax - Manufacturer of Luxury Class C & Super C Motorhomes

Agree that riding in a TT could be dangerous.

However, I take personal note with someone saying skydiving is dangerous. I never believed it was frickin' dangerous and most who say it is, have never tried it. But any sport can be dangerous, people die from being hit with a hit ball but most people allow their kids to play baseball.

2015, USPA recorded 21 fatal skydiving accidents in the U.S. out of roughly 4.2 million jumps. That's 0.005 fatalities per 1,000 jumps—among the lowest rate in the sport's history!

Back to the subject!
