Traveling this year

With all the stuff posted on social media and regular media about protest and all, has anyone experienced any problems traveling? I really wonder how much of these postings are factual? I'm sure there are areas to avoid and watch out for. Wish this year would end, hope for better next year.

I spent about an hour trying to get out of Columbus several weeks ago because of protesters. About a week or so later, a 15-minute trip to the grocery store took about 45 minutes due to protesters. I had to drive through parking lots to get where I wanted to go.

We just returned from a 2800 mile round trip from Nashville, Tennessee to Mt Rushmore, South Dakota with absolutely no problems or delays along the way. Reservations were honored and a phone call to each campground along the way prompted them to meet us out front and quickly escort us to our site at each stop. Some restaurants were limited but most were open for business, no problem finding fuel and the tourists sites had adequate security reassuring us that protesters would be jailed. And shortly after leaving South Dakota we heard that they did in fact fill up the jail house with goofballs.

We just returned from a 2,000 mile trip, routing from Kansas City through Memphis TN and Birmingham AL down to Destin, FL with the main issue being people not considering others by wearing masks. Wearing a nose/mouth covering limits the distance that your exhaust travels - so ppl with Covid with and without symptoms protect others by wearing a mask. Protests earlier were mostly in downtowns, not on the bypass loops, so that was not an issue at all.

most of what you 'hear' is fake news - folks who want to make certain small things into 'national' problems, when they are far from it... people are driving, traveling, camping, and rving just like they always have - with rare exception. If you look at the interstate highways, it's probably very difficult to discern any differences. We've not gone hardly anywhere where there weren't people everywhere.

We R at the KOA in Fancy Gap, VA. Been here since last Wednesday. Of course the CG was full over the holiday weekend, but last night it was full and tonight it appears as if it will be full again. And the swimming pool is open!
There are a LOT of RVers traveling with no issues.

We traveled from Covington, LA to eureka springs AR.
On the way, we spent one night in little rock, AR.

Our time in eureaka springs consisted of 4 nights.

Upon leaving eureaka springs (enroute to Nachitoches, LA) we spent a night in texarkana.

We spent 3 nights in nachitoches, LA before heading home to Covington, LA.

We had prior c/ground reservations in place for little rock, eureka springs and nachitoches, LA. Texarkana reservation was made last minute because it depended on our route to nachitoches.

Total duration of the trip was 9 nights and 10 days.
