US Military FamCamps

There was another post on this topic, but it was too old to reply to, so I figgered I'd start another one...
We've stayed at a NUMBER of FamCamps & along with Harvest Host sites, that's where we'll continue to park our rig. Kirtland AFB was the first on we tried, & we even got a welcoming package. It's clean & roomy, but not much shade. It's right in Albuquerque & there's a lot of stuff to see & do in the area.
We stayed a Lackland AFB, & altho it's kinda desolate, there is a lot of interesting history in the San Antonio area.
MacDill AFB in Tampa is pretty nice, but it's pretty much jammed & last time we were there, we rotated from dry to partial to full hookups on a two week rotation. Traffic in Tampa is horrendous.
We hit Sigsbee NAS in Key West, & altho we were on a dry site for the two weeks, I really enjoyed the February weather! $17 per night wasn't too hard to take either.
We really like Eagle Hammock RV FamCamp on King's Bay Bay NSB in St. Mary's, Ga. In fact that's where we are as I type this. It's more like a little community of friends tyhan the others we've stayed at. Free laundry cafilities are an added bonus.
Robbins AFB is being reworked & altho some of it is in disrepair, they really took good care of us when we were there in 2019. We were pulling a Stryker 2916 Toy Hauler with a brand new Ram & the transmission Sh*t the bed. A one night stay turned into 12 while waited for the repairs. $9K+, but all warrantied.
Another nice one is the FamCamp at Joint Base Charleston in Monck's Corner SC. Right on the shores of Lake Marion. We've stayed there twice & will go back.
Ft. Bragg has a small FamCamp that is pretty cozy, but the constant arrival & departure of Blackhawk Helicopters is distracting.
Ft. Stewart-Hunter AAF in Ga. is also nice & secluded, but the M1 Abrams Tanks run all night long.
We will be leaving here on Tuesday & heading to MacDill for the 3rd time. We're hoping that it's still early enough that it won't be jammed.
After we head north to NY to take care of some business & medical issues, we'll head out after the holidays & we'll take advantage of as many of the FamCamps as we can. We will head back south & then work our way along the Gulf Coast thru Texas NM & Az.
Maybe hit So. Cal. & up the PCH for a bit. We shall see.

So, should I post this one as a reply to the "aged" one?
Or should I leave it as is?
New to this forum & don't wanna violate any standards...

It depends on the aged thread. If your new post fits in the old thread, put your new post there. Else, start a new thread. I was tuning up your “can’t post” comment.

I'll leave it as is. If a moderator wants to merge it, that's ok with me.
