this may sound fundamental but yes have the propane at the ready to come on. If plugged into land line 110v, at the frig, push 'Auto' button, then open propane tank that you will use, turn on one burner on the stove to bleed air out of propane line. Light stove burner to the point that is burns clean and has no air in line, shut off stove burner..... Now, leave as is. When you unplug the shore line, the propane will 'auto' and change over and light the propane to the fridge. 3hours or three months, it is fine to use the propane on the RV.
