A newbie to the Forum

Hello I am new to the forest river forum. I live in Riverside California. In September I purchased a 2018 Wolf Pup 18T. I am towing it with my 2017 Toyota 4 Runner. So far I've only gone to campsites with complete hook up. I am a little intimidated about camping to far from home. I have done quite a bit of camping but it's usually with my children and husband. My children have all grown up, and husband is still working full time. Lately I've been camping alone.

- We are almost neighbors - I'm near the end of the 60. Nothing to fear - you are simply worried about things about which you have not yet educated yourself. This forum is the place to get the education and all the help you want.

Grab the hubby and go camping!

One of the admins of the group is Terier. If I recall correctly, she's a single woman who enjoys camping and is in your neck of the woods. Maybe see if you can connect with her:

Welcome from Texas

We just joined the forum a few days ago and there is a wealth of information here and everyone is willing to help. There is a welcome mat forum that first timers can post and you will receive some basic rv information. We too are first timers and have only been camping with Full hookups. Not ready to go off grid yet but maybe by summer time.

Welcome!! In the smallish RV park where I am wintering, there are five separate ladies from completely different backgrounds who are camping single for various reasons. You're a long way from the only one.

Not all us men are former plumbers, electricians or even handymen. Most, like me, come here for advice because we don't know how to fix things either! Perhaps getting AAA Plus RV might give you a little more peace of mind.

I only go to campsites with FHU as well. I went to a state park once with no sewer hook up, just a dump station. That, to me, is roughing it. Never again!!

You've made a big step. Be proud of yourself ...and enjoy.

Welcome from Menifee just south of you. Have fun with it. Cruise over to Lake Skinner and stay a weekend. The camp hosts that stay there are very knowledgeable and willing to help.

Hi there from another member here in the IE. if you don’t mind sharing what are your go-to places for camping? I love beach camping but I make good use of Rancho Jurupa (Cottowood campground) here in Riverside Co. Makes for a quick get-a-way from home. I camp solo so less time traveling works for me. But a road trip can be fun too.

There’s a Forest River rally in Hemet around Memorial Day weekend. The resort is really nice and has several pools & spas. There is a tour of the Forest River plant which is always fun to do. I was not a big Hemet fan but I ended going last year and had a blast. I’m planning on attending this year for some of the days. You can find more information on the Rallies FR Evers forum. I can post the link next time I’m online on the computer if you are interested in checking it out.

Maybe someday our paths will cross while out camping.

X2

In the beginning I seriously thought about selling my travel trailer the very night I brought it home from the dealership. I was overwhelmed. No husband or helpers to fall back on. I had to figure out how to be independent and in time I did.

One thing about camping that I experienced years ago is that usually a person staying at the site next to you is more than willing to help with setting up, backing up, packing up or drinking up!

Welcome from western PA. As your camping experience increases so will you confidence. Your rig is very comfortable but not too large to fit in virtually any camp ground. Soon you may find yourself wandering and exploring the whole western US.

Since we have retired my wife and I spend the winter and summers exploring our country. We are currently in Albuquerque NM and will be in Fresno in a couple of weeks to visit Yosemite ans Sequoia NPs. It will be Death Valley NP after that. Then we will slowly work our way back home in time for Palm Sunday.
