Smile about to be a new Forester Classic owner

Hello everyone.

While I am not new to Rv'ing, I am new to Class C units. This past Friday, My wife and I found a 2021 2861 Forester Classic C and made a deal to trade in our fifth wheel and truck. The new to us C will be ours on Sept. 30. We are both excited to try this new adventure, but also sad to see our beautiful fifth wheel drive away, as well as my beloved GMC 3500 dually.

Looking forward to many more RV travel experiences

Congrats, you're going to love the floorplan. Assuming you've got the new V8, you won't have any issues towing (my V10 is ok towing but the extra 45 hp would help)

yes

Hi,

Yes, this unit has the V8. I think the biggest factor I am going to have to accept is the lose of fuel mileage over the Duramax diesel I have been using for 14 years to pull our fifth wheels. I am not sure what to expect with the Ford engine, but my guess is about 7 miles to the gallon! Maybe we will be taking a lot of 55 MPH two lane roads!

Welcom! I went from a C to a travel trailer just recently. I had the C for a little over 5 years, it was used so it was getting to need a lot of extra work. I still wanted to cry when I saw it go but so relieved too. You are gonna have a great time!

Hi, yes, it is going to be sad to give up our fully optioned Open Rang fifth wheel and especially my 06 GMC Duramax dually. Best and most comfortable truck I have ever owned. I much prefer driving it than my wife's Ford Edge!
I know I ma going to have to do something about the driving position in the Class C. It seems to sit very low for me. Wish it had the six way power seat option from Forest River. For the time being, I may have to look into making spacer shims to raise the seating position!
