Almost 2300 owners

We are about two days away from taking possession of a 2014 SunSeeker 2300 from an individual that was taken advantage of by a dealer from all the stuff she purchased from them. I'm not happy about it but they knew nothing about RC's and the care they require. It turned into a new RV that was driven to California and back home. It has been stored inside for two years only taken out for service. My wife and I have been in and out of the RV world since the 70's starting out in a tent, then pop up but then hail destroyed the pop up so we had a chance at an older Airstream, then a hardside trailer, a fifth wheel, a Phoenix Cruiser( we really liked this small MH), a big DP and now this 2300 on a Ford chassis. I've hated and loved all of them for various reasons. The DP required way more knowledge, care and parts than I was interested in giving it. Oh yeah, and a big ole pile of money. We are looking forward to retirement about anytime and traveling the country in this nice barely used 2300. I'm finding the bed has never been slept in and still has the plastic around it. Stove never used, water tank system never used, surround sound not used, air ride not used. None of this was used because they didn't know how. They were sold a huge amount of accessories, some of which are still in the package. A 50A adapter to plug into a 30A outlet is of no value to them as this MH is 30A. I could go on but if the opportunity arises I will be stopping into the dealership and telling them just what I think of them.

I remember this dealer before it was purchased by a large RV corporation. DW and I had looked there to purchase a new MH before running into this MH that turned out to be only a few blocks from where we live. I despise companies that take advantage of the unknowing and innocent people of the world to make a fast buck. My daughter-in-law was trying to help my very busy son by taking their van into a Firestone dealer to have them repair an alternator issue. She took what they told her as truth and shelled out over $1,000 to replace a $90 alternator. I could see $150 for diagnosis and labor but over $1,000!? No integrity there.

Oh I know what you mean. If I had known about this forum I would have thought long and hard before buying another 5th wheel.

I like RV's of all types and shapes. Some of them have been problems from day one but usually for a reason. The Airstream was old and required repairs almost on a daily basis but it had been so well cared for it looked new inside even though it was almost 30 years old. Stuff just gets old. The behemoth MH turned out to be one that had a huge slide out with too small of a gear mechanism to move it and lacked some safety systems now found on new ones. Constantly working on the slide outs, shear pins, gear alignment on the slides was just about all I could take after a year. I loved the ride and the power of a DP but enough was enough.

I had a Salem 5th well loved it. It got totaled in hail storm about 8 years ago. I recently got diagnosed with cancer I want to see left side of map. The camper we purchased on April 17th lucked it up April 22. Slept in driveway April 29 heavy down piyr , well it was raining inside of camper. They got it back May6 for floor repair and window replacement and a few misc. Things.
I picked it back up from dealer June 6th floor still not fixed with them having it a month could not get it done. They are coming to my home to repair floor and bring my side doors. There is nothing wrong with 5th wheel, we was sold a brand new lemon. This was to be my stress reliever not a stress caused.

Update. We took possession of the MH and when we went to leave she had put all kinds of stuff in the MH, some of which had nothing to do with the RV. I told her about it and she said to take it and that she is an impulse buyer so that opened up an opportunity to ask if the dealer had talked her into buying all the stuff she had. Her response; oh heavens no. I bought this stuff just in case I might need it! Ok, now I feel better about the dealer now.

Part 2. While helping her look for pliers I went in her shed, garage and house and all three are packed with labeled storage boxes that contain stuff that she may or may not need in the future. I just wish I had invested in Rubbermaid before she made her purchases! I'm guessing no less than 80 boxes.
