always learning

hey guys, mik & roro here, 1st trip completed. nc to lake tahoe (daughters wedding) to mesa az to hilton head to home. 7300 miles and what a blast!! too many things we learned to put here, most from this forum!! our question, we have a RW 2511S TT with furrion tv/sound system. on nasty days/nites the ol TV comes in handy, but cable/air isnt very reliable. what is the best solution? we've seen satellites, on roofs, ground w/cables, wineguard, playmaker, etc. neither of us are the new tech diy folks, so simple terms we mite understand. ive been on a bunch of websites/youtube, but you guys are the ones we trust. also, first post for us, there will be plenty more questions from us for sure!! thanx, m&r

If you generally camp in wooded areas I would not get the roof mount as you need a clear view of the south west sky.

If you generally camp in open areas I would probably get the roof mount.

I had Dish and brought it with one time. A little difficult to get it aligned but not too bad and should get easier. There are things that can make this easier. I currently don't have any pay TV service and even if I did I doubt if I would ever go back to a satellite system unless we were full timing.

We have a dish tailgater that we’ve used a couple times but most places we stay have cable. If we were gonna boondock it would be used more. Quite a few folks on the forum use streaming tv. We also are not tech savvy so don’t have that. If reception is dodgy we watch dvds.

I have HULU streaming TV. I can take that anywhere that i either have WiFi or cellular. lots of good info here from people that use those systems year round.

We use the Dish Anywhere app on our smartphone to access our home DVR. We then use the smart tv to watch everything we can watch at home. Luckily we have unlimited data.
No need for satellite or cable.
