Unhappy anode rods

have a 2004, Flagstaff 23FB, it has the original hot water heater, but all the labelling is gone. Can anyone tell men what water heater it has or what is the correct anode rod? Everything I am seeing has a 1 1/16" hex but mine seems to be 1 1/8", and I don't know if that would necessarily translate to the threading being different.

Are you sure about that? Have you tried a 1 1/16" socket?

I've never heard of the hex head being any measurement other than that.

Can you perhaps take a pic maybe with your phone of the water heater and post it. We can usually look at it and tell you what you got.

Forest River uses a couple different brands/models of water heaters and they are easily differentiated. The pic will show us what is needed to let you know.

i have not tried it but that is my next step when i get up to Maine again. I bought replacement rods on the advice of an RV dealer up there, but their hexes were 7/8" and much too small for my heater.

I’m pretty sure all the heads are alike. It’s only the rod that’s differ material. I got the best one they had. It was the rod. Looked aluminum
