Wife and I have never done camping , RVing or any thing like it, but Covid is the game changer for us all , NO?
So although I am 71 , she 68, we just decided to spend the kids inheritances ( they don't need it at all
, believe me) and blow all our savings ( not really even close) on whatever we
want, and start traveling and having some fun that we just kept putting off.
As a start, we just picked up a used 2016 FR Sunsetter 2400R for our intro to RVing. About 41K miles , new Michelins and owned by an older (80-85) couple that decided to give it up due to RA. Decent price, and all functions working on the rig. Just returned from our first, semi break in run, to Laughlin NV, for a 575mile first round trip over 3.5 days. Secondary roads kind of sucked, but the rig ran well and got about 13.5 MPG in total. Gas gauge show E with about 5 gals left in the tank so I was tanking at 20 gallons. Found out you DON"T want to tank in Cali ( $5.09 a gallon ( ouch)).
Anyway this an intro, so hoping to meet a lot of new friends and others along the way. Also finding that, like boats ( hole in the water that you throw money into, Telescopes ( hole in the sky that you throw money up at), RVing is another one of those holes that eats money. IS OKAY!
That is what money is for right?
Looking forward to RV life!
Oops..We are in Mesa AZ , but snowbirds so will be in Tigard OR after April.
