Aussie Sierra Owner

Hi Everybody
Just bought a Sierra 28RKSS here in Oz and looking forward to some serious travel around this great country. Looking for advice on obtaining a spare part which seems difficult to find here in Western Australia. There is a plastic "thingy" which is used to hold the door open and mine broke in high wind recently. Is there anywhere in US which specialises in Sierra parts?
I'll be most grateful for any help.
Cheers

Terry

If so let me know and I can help get one to you. If not post a picture of the broken one and I will see what I can do.

Hi Mike
Thanks for the info. The JR Plastic T 40534 6" looks like it might be the one. I've attached some pics and the measurements (approx conversions from metric) are:
the "rod" 6" and
the left hand bracket approx 2.95" x 1.73"
Do you know if the RV Center will sell online and post overseas?
Just for the record I have a 2006 Sierra 28rkss towed by a Ford F250 7.3 litre diesel a fantastic wife of 13 years and a great bichon frise puppy of 1 year :-)
Cheers and Happy New Year!

I see one in Ebay, in case you're interested.... seller ships to Europe, so Australia wouldn't be a big stretch.
Not sure I can link without giving you my Ebay account, so to play it safe I'll just offer the item number for your search - Item number: 220187448812

Send me an address to ship to by a pm and I will fix you up. Those are easy to get here and I will send them to you. Someday you maybe return the small favor.

Hello Oz.
Welcome to the forums.

I replaced the cheap plastic door holder on my precious TT with a metal zinc plated holder. It was a lot stronger and held until I sold it.

Looks like Mike will take care of your needs.

Happy New Year,

Excellent.... What's the RV situation there Oz? Lots of campgrounds and people camping? I have relatives in Great Brittain (Wales, of course) and they camp but the campers are really quite small by our standards... no screens on windows either, apparently they have no black flies, mosquitos, etc. which seems so odd to a Canadian.

Oz Action

Hi Glynn?? :-)
There is a growing number of 5th wheelers in Australia particularly on the east coast. Together with many caravans and motorhomes it means there is a growing army of travellers out there. This includes the seniors who are referred to as Grey Nomads - many of whom travel north in the winter and south in the summer.

Caravan parks and free camping sites are plentiful so far but park numbers are reducing as owners grab profit by selling the land for housing. There is a great club for motorhomers - Campervan & Motorhome Club of Australia ().

Cheers and thanks again for help
Tery

Interesting, thanks. It's funny how similar things are on different continents.. our migrating seniors are called snow-birds, after the Anne Murray song. They summer in Canada and winter in sunny Florida, USA (since there really is no south in Canada, we use theirs.)
