Driveway camping now while I go through all the systems and get used to using them. Local trip is in 4 weeks. We’re lucky to actually live in the middle of a national forest with the lake and camping sites just 20 miles down the road. The first semi-long haul will be down to NC/TN (350mi) to ride the dragon and surrounding roads late July. First dry camping will be taking the sport bike to the track (200mi) end of August. Thanks for the advice!

I did the Dragon in 2014 on a 2012 Ultra Classic with stage 2 kit. My wife and I had a blast until the crotch rockets came in like mad bumblebees lol.

If you do make it, look me up and I’ll motorcycle tour you around the great roads and beautiful scenery of southern Ohio, northeastern Kentucky and western West Virginia.
Welcome from a part time Southern Ohio camper. We have a summer site in Ripley Ohio. Thanks for the tip about a nice state park to visit.

Do you camp on the river? I’ve done that as a kid. Would love to do it again.
One of my mapped out rides brings me thru Ripley
And a crossover on the ferry for some lunch in Augusta. I usually ride it at least twice a summer.
You’re welcome for tip. There are quite a few nice places in Ohio southern counties all well within 75 miles from home. I plan to stay close this summer!

We camp at Eagle Creek Marina. There are a few sites available for daily rental but you would want to call to confirm.
I highly recommend the ferry to Augusta. $7 one way for a car now. Great river town with good restaurants. Or you can take the "old bridge" into Maysville. Their downtown is good too. Take the AA or Rt 8 ( I think) over to Augusta. Nice drive either way.
Enjoy!

If you choose to adventure out a little farther this summer, join us for the FROG Rally in August.

I’ll be doing a couple motorcycle track days in August in Columbus. Thanks for the invite. I’ll look into it for next year! Is it always at the same place? Goshen IN isn’t too far from me.

Thanks! I’ll check into Eagle Creek. Ferry is $3 for motorcycles!
This is my usual route. Love the area.
