Smile Been here but never said "Hello"

Hello everyone. Been a member since 2011 but never really said Hi to all. Anyway, we have a Rockwood Roo 233 SSO. Absolutely love it and have made just little changes to make things easier for me. I do have a minor question regarding the screen door on these units. Mine has a single handle located on the outside for opening and closing. You need to slide open a panel to access form the inside. Bit of a pain and am looking to replace the handle with a dual operating one, along with a self closing mechanism. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any advise and Hi again.

Don

Welcome Hack!

Your profile says you've been a member since 8/11/2017.
None the less, if you can post a photo of your current screen door latch, maybe one of us can help you find something. Update your profile and signature to include your R/V model and other info. so it's always handy in every post!

On a previous camper I installed one of these: Screen Door Opener - Camco 43953 - Screen Doors - Camping World. Very easy to open screen door without sliding panel open.

Thumbs up Been Here

Thanks for the input. Yes I have been a member since 2011, but never logged in. I did look into the Camco latch, but not really impressed with it. Thought there may be something a bit more sturdy out there. As far as a picture, I unfortunately have put the camper away just today for the winter. So I doubt I will be back in it for a few months. I will continue my search.

What about the springs that attach for the screen door to assist in closing? Anyone install those at all?

Thanks again.

Don

By the way, we go camping in Wisconsin all the time. Prefer it over IL campgrounds. We normally stay within a three hour drive from Chicago, and always look to find a new state park each year. Just found Point Beach outside of Two Rivers this year and loved it.

Welcome hack!

Since you have a Roo, you may want to post your questions in the Roo sub-forum.

By the way, FR never made a 233 SSO.
They made a 233, a 23SS and a 233S.

SSO was a Starcraft hybrid designation.
FR uses SS to designate Super Slideout.
