Bigtime Excited and need assistance
Hello out there-just got a 2021 Geo Pro 20bhs and we are seriously pumped about gettin to it! It’s the first RV we have owned and are looking for any tips/hacks/do’s-don’ts/lessons learned or valued recommendations this forum has to offer.
There is ALOT to take in and learn and we are eager to soak it it.
And if anyone can tell me why, or point to a thread that speaks to it already:
- when my 7 pin is connected with my truck running/tt battery turned off/ I get no power in the trailer? Inverter led light will not illuminate nor anything else will power on.
Really appreciate your input!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase of a 2021 Geo Pro 20bh. If I understand you you say you have the battery disconnect switch turned off doing so will not give you any power to the tt, The battery will not run any of your other items in the trailer except DC items. You need to be plugged into a 3o amp service or get a adapter to reduce your 30amp plug to 110 then you can plug into a electrical out let at home but you will not be able to run the air. If you go to the sub thread for tt you can post your question there and you will get more help.. Later RJD

If you turn the TT battery OFF... it disconnects it from the internal distribution panel (Fuse box) and won't send power to any interior lights , furnace or other 12v powered devices.
7 pin will send some power from the truck's alternator to your TT battery
it's enough to charge it back up after several hours of driving.
If you use a lot of power while dry camping / boondocking you may need to get more power into the TT batteries by:
Shore Power / Generator ... they will charge battery via a converter
200w or more of Solar Panels ... on the roof
Or get a portable solar panel (suitcase) you can attach to the TT

Oh-I misunderstood then. I thought the 7 pin was just like having shore power connected…gah.
So my truck is NOT like a generator that can power my trailer. So glad I figured this out now, thanks AUSSIEGUY!!

It may be if you have a new truck with the AC generator capabilities but even so, it doesn't power shore power through the 7 pin connector. That is just for trickle charging the battery in the R/V and for marker/clearance and turn signal supply voltage for the truck.

Suggest that you Google "the 12 Volt Side of Life". It's a good primer on the two different RV electrical systems and batteries.
Didn't your dealer do a PDI/walk-through with you? Or did you buy it from a private party?

If no shore power...
If you have power slides, jacks or stabilizers.
keep the truck's motor running and the 7pin connected connected and until you are setup in your camping spot.
check if trailer level sideways as much as needed for your fridge and slides ..
unhook the ball use the power jack to lift it off
put the stabilizers MOST of the way down and then the slides out
Disconnet 7 pin and move truck away.... get trailer level front and back using the jack and finish putting down the stabilizers
Leaving it connected while setting up reduces the drain on the battery from electric motors in the jack, stabilizers and slides
special note... most stabilizers are only to be used to steady the trailer NOT try to lift trailer

I’ll check that out, thanks.
No, I bought from a private seller. I understand basics of the 12v battery vs shore power but didn’t know what I didn’t know until I got into it, you know?

Bikendan's suggestion to watch some videos for newbies is probably the better suggestion
there are a bunch of things to learn
best thing you can do is set up your trailer in your driveway / yard and pretend camp for a couple of days
Make a list....
