Black & White DVD Movies

Hi
I am Brenda

I just got my new Trailer recently and this is the second trip. Love it by the way, 28 Ft Wildcat Trailer, Installed a new tv in the living area, put the one it came with in the bedroom. The new one is a Samsung. Hooked everything up and is working but the dvd only is playing in black and white. What did I do wrong????? Everything goes into the Jensen Stereo, bluetooth system. I am really confused. The tv side is in color but not the dvd...... Help
Thanks

How does the DVD video signal get into the TV? Is it a video cable or a coax type cable with F connectors on each end?

Being that everything is new, the connection is probably HDMI which is all digital and you either get a good picture or no picture.

My guess is that the TV may have separate settings for the different inputs and that the color (saturation) is set to zero for that input. Could also be the same setting issue on the DVD player itself. Go into the picture menu on each device one at a time and check the color setting.

Are you using the yellow RCA plug from the Jensen output to the TV?

If so, you are plugged into the COMPONENT connector and not the COMPOSITE connector. (The "Y" is NOT for "Yellow")

Move it to the input labeled "Video" or "Composite"

This may not be the answer to your question, but I recently came across a similar situation. I have watched my tv and used the dvd player at least once on every trip I have made. When trying to watch a movie on my most recent trip, I was seeing the image in black and white, with no sound. I was nervous something jarred loose or broke, or whatever. Turns out it was the input on the tv. One of the inputs shows the video perfectly and gives you the audio, the other input gave you black and white with no audio. I would cycle through the inputs and see if that helps

I had the same issue! It was just a matter of selecting the right input on the TV. Don't remember off the top of my head which one now. Just cycle through the inputs until you find the right one.
