Brand New Georgetown GT5 in Duluth, Georgia
Just joined this forum, because it's clear that I'm gonna need all the help I can get. Wife and I just bought our sixth RV, and the very first brand new one. We got a Georgetown GT5 Motorhome (2021). I'd heard stories about quality issues with new units, but boy was I in for a rude awakening. So far, all I've done is troubleshooting and repair. Biggest problem so far, is the flapper is missing from the refrigerator. You can look between the doors and see the racks and bins inside. Bunk motor fuse was blown when we got home, and the slow-retract shade over the dinette won't retract at any speed. Step railing had a stripped screw making it wobbly, and the bunk control panel was only secured on one side, because the screw on the other side completely missed the wood.
We're hard-headed and we refuse to let this get us down, but being the single most expensive item I've ever purchased, (Yes that includes my B&S home), I certainly think they could do better.
Hopefully this will be my last rant, and the rest of the posts will be happy and uplifting. I love to offer suggestions and advice, so maybe one of you will ask something that I know the answer to.
