Crusader 26re

New here and curious. Looking at the 2018 crusader 26re and have been told I can tow with 1/2 ton truck. I am worried about stopping and handling and am thinking 3/4 ton. suggestions?
Thanks,
Ben

The primary limitation of half ton trucks is payload. That trailer has 1450 pounds of pin weight empty which is pushing the half ton limit before you load it with stuff. Add hitch and other people and stuff in the truck and you will be well over payload capacity. You should be OK with most any 3/4 ton though.

Definitely diesel for any towing/hauling. Exhaust brake and tow haul mode with diesel will save your brakes big time, especially on down hills/steep grades.

Picked up a 2012 RAM 2500 in great shape and low miles. Shouldn't be a problem pulling this unit.

Sent you PM. That Ram should be good. My 2013 2500 tows my 2016 27RK like it's not even there (except you know it is when you start and tow uphill). I use a 6.0 gain on my brake controller and it's smooth and steady. Tow haul mode and EB on full and the only time I use the brakes is when someone in front of me is. Downhills are a breeze, the EB and engine/trans do most of the work keeping me under control. braking is always a minimum (as long as you pay attention to the curve signs)

Sorry didn't get your PM until today, was in Yellowstone for a week, just got back.
