disappointed

Hello, nice to meet all of you. We bought a 2013 Wildcat 5th wheel last August 2015. It was brand new last on the lot.. I was very excited I thought Forest River was a very good brand. We have only been able to use 4 or 5 times due to weather in Michigan... long Winter Unfortunately everytime we took it out there was something wrong with it. SO disappointed as it has been sitting at the dealer since June 1 waiting for them to look at the slideout that leaked so bad during the storm ( and 2 other issues) on our maiden voyage this year.. I have looked through the threads and see I am not alone .. Now to try and reach out to FR customer service ... wish me luck . I want to go camping ! If anyone has any ideas on how to approach this with getting this dealer to get my trailer out of the rain and in the shop,, please let me know.. Happy camping to all of you and thank you for the time to vent

Was that a new 2013 unit or used?

If new it should have come with a warranty; used, the dealer may have had something but it would be out of FR's hands totally.

FR is not the problem here; but your dealer who sounds like "he has your money and you just need to get in line".

If new, that unit sat on the lot for almost 2 years before you bought it. I am sure no preventative maintenance was done on it while it sat out in the elements.

We used to have a great contact with Wildcat here but he has since moved to another division. I will take a look at my notes and see if we have another "touch" (besides F.R.O.G. Bob who is pretty busy with the big rally in a few weeks).

I don't know where your unit was built, but you could try "Wildcat Steve" a factory rep at the Oregon PLant.

thank you for your reply Herk7769.. this was a NEW Wildcat and you are probably right about the preventative maintenance. I know you are right about the "has my money now get in line". The salesperson I had is not longer working for this dealer.. probably took my money and ran . We try to buy local as we did in this case but I really won't recommend them to anyone not purchase there again..

Under "quick links" on the green bar is "Private Messages"; type in Wildcat Steve in the TO and put in a subject. (on the browser - I don't use the phone app)

State your case and include your VIN number.
If it was made at the Goshen plant he may have a contact for you.

Did your dealer give you an idea of when they will be able to look at your Wildcat? If not, I’d start pestering them. It’s the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.

Here is a link to the contact webpage for Wildcats. Forest River RV Contact Us - Forest River, Inc. I would send a message Bryan Knight and perhaps follow up with a call on Monday.

Use the power of the internet and find the head man for the company and call direct. I did this when I had issues with my 2015 funny how fast things got fixed. Later RJD

I hope you have a good dealer to fight for you. I just got back from a 5000 mile winter trip only to find a major leak in one of my slide outs. Come to find out the Wildcat 327ck has a cracking side wall issue and mine needs to be sent to the factory for major repairs. My dealer went to bat for me and got the fix arranged today. Just waiting for the details. Forest River will work with you but stay on top of it.
What model do you have?

Did you buy it from National Rv?
You'd think that they'd really give that unit a thorough PDI since it sat on their lot for so long.

Bryan is gone but Justin Swartz is in his place with the same number.
