EffinNewGuy - Prospective Buyer

Hi all.

We are looking for our first TT. Specifically looking at NOBO 10.5/10.6/16.6, and the Geo-Pro/E-pro 12SRK, 15TB, 16BH, and possibly the 19BH (but that is really pushing the capabilities of out TV).

I know this is a sensitive topic with many opinions. I will be keeping weight down as much as possible. TV is a 2020 4Runner. We just bought it in July 2020, so no chance of trading it in for another TV for a while. We bought it to explore the country, then realized we would like to add a smaller TT for comfort. It's really the only way I can get my wife out to enjoy camping.

Looking forward to learning a lot here.

can you post some of the details from the yellow sticker on the drivers door? it should have some info about your payload capacity. its probably 1500-1700 lbs. your max trailer weight is somewhere around 5000 lbs. you will also want to look into what weight your hitch is rated at for tongue weight.

a little prep work now will save you some pretty major headaches later!

Trust me, I have been looking into this like crazy. I'm hesitant to go with anything bigger than the 15TB (even then that one is pushing it). I want to build a smaller teardrop, but the wife says no. I am going to try to steer her towards a 12SRK or event a 15TB and play the safety card with her. She's the primary driving factor in anything larger.

If she still plays hard ball on a larger TT, I will ask her when she wants to make an appointment at Toyota to trade my NEW vehicle in for a new Tundra. My saving grace is the high trade-in values of 4Runners.
