feeling overwhelmed

I hope I can get an answer here. I went in to a dealer in FL and wound up purchasing a Forest River forester 3011ds 2019 and feel as though i was pushed into buying it. Can anyone on here tell me anything about this RV? i have found 5 very unsatisfactory reviews, and the dealership I unfortunately walked into has horrible reviews. and Yes apparently I am very gullible. but i did want to purchase something end of year and trade in my THOR,

What is it specifically about the RV that you want to know? You want answers but I’m not sure what the questions are.

I suspect you’re concerned that you may have bought an RV that’s trouble prone and poorly built, since you mentioned bad reviews. Well, since unhappy people are more likely to write reviews than satisfied customers, most reviews tend to be negative. Many dealers are bad and deserve the bad reviews they get. Many RVs are poorly built and deserve bad reviews.

You probably bought an RV of average build quality. And, from my personal observations of Thor products, it can’t be any worse than a Thor.

You're certainly alone. LOTS of RV smarts here. I've learned a TON here.

Not sure what you are wanting, other than assurance you're not crazy. LOL!!! You're not. Many are in same boat.

I guess my thought is that you now own a motorhome, regardless of how you acquired it. Many folks use that model well, and enjoy it. This site has general sections, and also has sections just for a particular model. Just peruse this site all over, but especially the Forester section. Ask any question, none of them are dumb. It's a LOT to take in at first, trust me.

But it's doable and you can do it too. RV people help each other.

Buyers remorse often kicks in after a big purchase.

What are your specific concerns?

Every R/V has issues.
Depending on your skill level, finding the right dealer is often as important as finding the right R/V. If your dealer is bad find a qualified mobile technician. Many do better work than dealers and often can do any warranty work necessary as well.

Best of luck to you and ask away if you've got questions.

thank you for the quick replies! I was told this is a top of the line Forest River product, Forester, 3011ds 2019. yes i am coming off a Thor Axis and realize it is a very poorly made product, so the FR i just bought is way better just off the bat. the reviews i am most worried about online are the leaking issues-kitchen and shower, the AC in Bedroom not blowing air (huge problem for a woman in mid 50's), it has paint so i am not worried about the outside issues. also the fact that everyone is saying no one can fix these issues not even the plant in Indiana.

is there anyone that owns a 2019 3011ds on here that can say OMG i love it? that would help me and realize that there are some duds but mine may be AOK!

Welcome to the forum from South Jersey. You came to the right place. IF you have a problem, this is where to come for help/answers. Only grumblers give bad reviews. We have a 2012 SunSeeker and mainly normal wear and tare items.

This is my personal opinion based on my observations. When the Thor Axis/Vegas line was introduced, we fell in love with the concept, and were sure we would purchase one. We looked at them at dealers, saw them in RV parks, climbed all over them at RV shows, etc, but we gradually learned that they were basically junk. We then came to the realization, based on other Thor products seen first hand, that Thor would allow some horribly built units to leave the factory. It’s not that all Thor products are bad, but they let some units leave the factory with shockingly ugly quality. What if I had ordered one and that was mine? No way, we thought. So, Thor was completely stricken from our shopping list.

Forester and Sunseeker motorhomes seemed more consistently built with moderately good quality, so we bought one. When you read the Forester/Sunseeker forum section, you don’t see many repetitive or severe problems, just the usual RV build issues (very) common to today’s RV industry. I think you will be fine with the Forester. I think is has features not found in more expensive units. We looked into a buying higher end brands of class Cs (more expensive), but we didn’t see that the value was there, and in some cases the higher end units had fewer features than the Forester/Sunseeker products.

Enjoy your new Forester and don’t worry about it.

We own a very similar early 2020 3011 DS that was probably in production not far from yours, and almost certainly crafted by many of the same people.

Knock on wood, we’ve had no major issues - and encourage you to follow the advice of tenured members of this forum (including the “first get an alignment” advice if you have a steering/wander issue).

Welcome from Central Florida. We have had our 3011 for four and a half years and the only issue we have had that was Forest River related was a leaking ice maker line. At least for ours, the build quality plus fit and finish are very good.

Be sure to join F.R.O.G. and hopefully we will see you at one of the rallies.

Local Rallys are great to meet other FROG members and see different areas of the country.
