Finally going to finish what we started!

Back in 2015, the wife and I thought we were going to hit the road fulltime and travel but the Air Force threw me a curveball when they offered me a civil service job in Hawaii. So after already having our rig in-place and ready to roll, we put those plans on hold and off to Hawaii for 4 years we went.

Fast forward almost 7 years now! Although, after I retired from civil service and took a contractor job in Florida which switched to working at home because of the mess this COVID has created, we realize it is time to pickup where we left off before Hawaii. The old fifth-wheel rig is no more. We wanted even less that what we had and decided on the couple couch travel trailer route. Today we take delivery of our 2022 Forest River Vibe 26RK to match up with out 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the Duramax 3.0L diesel engine. We previously owned the Colorado with the 2.8L Duramax but wanted something a bit bigger and more stable for our up-coming travels so we upgraded our tow vehicle last night.

We will be home basing out of Gulf Shores AL where we purchased our own RV lot in a newly developed Whispering Pines RV Resort. Being about 3 miles from the beach will make this home base very nice and owning our own lot will never have us worrying if we have a place or not. If anyone is looking to purchase a place of their own please message me and I will give you the details. The owners even do their own financing for those that are interested in that.

So after spending sometime working the kinks out of the new rig, the wife and I will be looking to head out and see what we have been missing in our beautiful country as we have been going where the Air Force has sent us over the past 43 years. We hope that we will meet up with many of you out on the road. Till then, everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
