First Post-2021 Rockwood HW296

Good Evening All,

Just joined today. We got our 2021 Rockwood HW296 in July and just came back from our third trip with it. We previously had a 2006 Fleetwood Pop-up for the last 7 years. We loved our Fleetwood but wanted to upgrade to a camper with a toilet and AC as well as a little more room. We love the new camper despite it missing a few parts (light, sewer hose cap, hanging pantry and hanging wardrobe), a poorly installed awning (supports installed in wrong spots) and a door that needs to be properly assembled. We have had bad luck with both the dealer and Rockwood in responding. Any tips on how to get a better response? I am trying to put pressure on Rockwood as the Dealer seems to have deleted our number! Anyway I am looking forward to the forum and seeing what is going on in the community. Thanks

Hi and Welcome to FRF.
Be sure to check out the Tent Camper and Popup section here.
Did you have a PDI/walk-through before accepting the trailer?

Hate to say it, but you've been had by the dealer. They got your money and got you out the door. You should have never accepted the rig until all the faults and defects were corrected. You are now at the mercy of Forest River. You'll eventually get help, but it may be a while.

Looking at your picture you posted, in another message, I'm not seeing any ball connectors for your awning to be attached to the side wall of your camper box. Do you have ball connectors beneath the awning bag? Its possible you have none on the sidewall itself and have to use the awning poles, via ground use only. You can purchase ball connectors for the sidewalls also. We basically have the sister version to your Rockwood.

We did have a walk through with assurances that the missing parts would be eventually sent. The frustration is the lack of returned calls and emails

We can use the ground poles for the awning. The ball connectors are missing and the left side pole support is off by about 3 ft. I think they used to supply a 16 ft awning which would work but now they have a 13 ft

Welcome from Wisconsin. Hope your dealer will step up on the parts you need/deserve. Enjoy your 2021 Rockwood HW296.
