I thought the tankless sounded like a nice upgrade at first (we didn't know the one we ordered would come with one), but the biggest problem I have is if you try to take a Navy shower, it doesn't work well. If you turn the water off, it shuts down, then when you turn the shower on again, you get still-warm water, followed by a burst of cold water, and you're waiting 10-15 seconds for it to get warm again. It also lacks the power to get cold water up to its default setting of 120 degrees unless the water in the tank is about room temperature. It tops out at about 105 degrees, which is still comfortable shower water, so I just dialed it down to that and only turn the hot water on. On the other hand, you don't have to expend 6 gallons to fill it, wait for that quantity to heat up, or worry about running out of hot water, but it could be better.

Wondering... since you have the on-demand water heater, is your shower also equipped with a Showermiser valve? My understanding was one of the features of the valve, is to allow the "flow" to continue (back to the tank) when engaged (such as for Navy showers) and by keeping the flow going, you didn't have the burst of cold water when diverting back to the shower head.

We've used our propane refrigerator at 9500 ft. with no issues.

They key to a tankless water heater is to turn on the hot water, then add cold til you get to the temp you like. Don't turn it off while 'soaping up'. They've done studies that show you use the same amount of water than you would if you turned it off and on again. Not sure I believe that, but it's hard to argue with a study.

Thanks so much! We love the San Juans so much! In fact, we stayed in an AirBnb right near the Last Dollar Ranch in that area on our last trip for our anniversary. It was one of the last experiences that pushed us over the edge to make a move on the RV dream after casually looking at them for a few years. My wife grew up in Colorado Springs but this was her first time there, and we both thought it was a really special area. Looking forward to hopefully being able to spend more time traveling out that way!

Last Dollar Ranch, Telluride, and the Dallas Divide along Hwy 62 are all beautiful areas. Glad you got to see it up close. Now you'll have to pull your TT out and enjoy the comforts of home while in the San Juans. Here's a photo from the pullout along Hwy 62 of the Dallas Divide and Mt Sneffels.

Heard from the dealer today. Our unit just came in from the factory and we get to go pick it up on Tuesday. Have been keeping the Amazon drivers extremely busy for a few weeks now with all the stuff we wanted to get started… really excited to start getting everything situated and tested out.

I’m in the same boat! Wife and I are brand new as well. Also spending money like I’m in Washington DC. [emoji23]

We chose a standard water heater because of the DW. She is a navy shower person. Tankless water heaters are great however, they use more water. Not so good boondocking.

Unlike the past, stock rv’s are designed to be plugged in daily! Batteries are the weak link. The furnace and fridge are big energy users. You need more battery to boondock.

Review the PDI sheets carefully. Be positive, everything works. Takes hours. No way on the old, bring it back in two weeks with your list! Service in the rv industry is mostly awful to worse. We observe the $200 rule. Any jobs under $200 I do myself.

Make sure you have a square drive screwdriver in the rv. Wood screws fall out. The rv industry loves square drive screws and staples.

I am glad to hear that my wife and I are not the only ones binge shopping Amazon after we got our RV! Since it was our first RV, we didn't have anything so we had to buy all the typical RV stuff new.

Congrats again and hope your delivery goes great when they show you everything about the RV. That is probably the most important aspect of buying an RV.

Safe travels
