First time from NC

Hello all,

Excited to join you from NC. Bought our first toy hauler. Look forward to browsing the site, you've already helped with several questions. A little nervous, a lot excited about this new adventure. We've got a couple trips already planned. Short trip to a Moravian Campground for an event, then about 18 days next month to Zion National Park and back. Any tips or wisdom is appreciated. God Bless!

Welcome to the forum!

You're wise to do a trip or two close to home before you head to Zion.
Safe travels.

Welcome to the forum from Florida…

Tip.. it’s not like driving a car on travel time. I don’t know what speed you intend to drive but I drive about 65 mph and I plan 50 mph average speed with fuel stops and driver breaks.

It will take some long days to get out and back if you want to have a decent amount of time out there. Plan accordingly….

Welcome. Many would suggest you spend a night or two in "camp driveway" before your first trip. Lots of folks here willing and able to assist if you have questions along the way.

Good advice above about spending 1-2 nights in the camper in the driveway before you travel.

As an added note, I'd suggest you do one night plugged into house AC and one night totally unplugged (boondocked) to imitate staying in a welcoming parking lot on the way out (and back) such as Walmart, Cabelas, Cracker Barrel, etc.

Don't forget to get permission from the store mgr before getting there if possible and go inside the store and buy or eat something for their graciousness when you arrive and confirm it is OK to stay overnight.
