First Timer!

We just bought our first RV ☺️ ... we are taking her out for a 2-night test run soon. We are, obviously, new to RVíing ó itís just hubby, me and a 90 pound lab. We have a 2021 Forest River Salem 22RBS. Any words of wisdom to share? Any ďdonít forget to bring (whatever)Ē comments? I donít know what we donít know (if that makes sense), our trial run is 2 nights and we are going to a state park just a few miles from home.

I have a check list for packing and we have made several lists on our own. We are kind of excited 😆

Looking for any and all comments and suggestions. 👍🏻

Welcome Sandra. Here is a link that is aimed at new RV owners which help explain the systems, and such. It will give you some reading before your trip, and hopefully helps.

Welcome from North Texas. When we are packing up getting ready, we always jokingly say "Well, there will be a WalMart close by".

Generally anything you forget - you can buy on the road.

After your first trip or two, you'll have a routine that will only need slight tweaking along the way.

HAVE FUN!!

Welcome from Illinois. We always use a list for food and have tweaked over the years. You'll find places close to the campground to get forgotten supplies . Don't fret it and enjoy your time camping.

Much to learn!

Day one. Blew a 12 volt fuse. Walmart. Then had a screw to put back in. Loweís for a square drive screwdriver. No they are not Phillips most of the time!

Third disaster! Ran out of Roseís lime for our gin! Back up was wine. Tough life.

Need good gloves and a bucket for the waste hose. When removing the cap we often get a dribble.

Need a bag of bungee cords. Cabinet doors come open on rough roads. Useful on cords.

Otherwise all went swell! Turn wide dad!

Smart Move

Smart move, our first trip which was only a 2 months ago, was a 200 mile drive back to our back yard, (15 acers of forset) where we stayed for 3 days. It was great in part becuase we knew if anything major came up we were able to walk to the house. We went for the 2 nights, three days without ever going to the house.
