First Timers
Hi everyone. Glad to have found the Forest River forum!
We just bought our first TT, the Shasta 21CK, and are picking it up on 6/26. We're staying put for a month to live in it and try to figure it all out at an RV park. July 26th we hit the road for a long, leisurely trip back home to California.
As newbies, we have many questions, and lots to learn!
I look forward to reading the forums, and learning from all you experienced RVers!

Yes, we're in Statesboro Georgia! We're picking it up 3.5 hours away, so bringing it back to the RV park here will be my first time ever towing. I'm nervous, but will be going slowwww and learning how to use the brake controller. It's not too hilly, so .

So how did your first tow go?
My first tow with an RV was a few months ago. Mine kind of sucked. We had a good amount of trailer sway. A few days later I realized the dealer installed an 8000lb WD hitch when I wanted the 10,000lb WD hitch. After I got that settled all was fine.

We pick it up end of June. Yeah, my brother told me to make sure they install a class 4 weight distribution hitch, not a class 3.

Towing with a Ford Explorer Sport Trac, GVWR 5060. Trying very hard to keep it at 80%. Not easy!
I just got the weight of the folding storage rack on the back of the trailer; it weighs 80.6 lbs, and can only carry 200 lbs. It is coming off. I'm also probably going to remove the useless to me outdoor sink (cap off the lines of course etc).
We are basically trying to tow it to CA as empty as possible. My truck is in the shop being prepped for towing, including rear coilover shocks.
I have a very detailed listing of weight, if you're interested, lol
