First travel trailer
Hello all. New to the forum and first time owner of a hard shell travel trailer. Just purchased a Wolf Pup (Patriot edition) 16bhs. Traveled over 900 miles to pick her up; two reasons 1) I`m retired military and this edition really caught my eye, and 2) I saved $3,500. I`m still enroute to home, and in no hurry to get home, but it is getting cold. I tow her with a Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the Hemi. Been dry camping for 6 days now, and enjoying every moment of the journey. I`m learning about the rv world as I travel home. Once i get home, she`ll be done with for several months due to the snow. Wide open to any suggestions. Thank you!

Winterize it. Everybody has problems with their new trailer. Hopefully you don't have any major issues since you traveled so far to buy your's. Fix what you can on your own as long as it doesn't require a big outlay of cash. This forum is a wealth of information. I knew nothing about RVs when we bought our trailer. Repairs and mods are my hobby now. Enjoy the trailer life.

Thanks for info. Hopefully it's a lot of camping and little repairing...

from Southern California. You will find the forums to be both friendly and extremely useful. You didn't say whether the trailer is new or used. If the latter, hopefully all the bugs have been worked out. If the former, your experience with it so far indicates a likely lack of bugs. So if a bug crops up, you shoot it and go back to having fun.

Thanks for all the welcoming. All is going well, and I`m on my 6th day of dry camping. It`s in the 20`s at night, so it's quite cold. However, I need to manage my furnace use, since i noticed a draw on both my battery and propane - just need more comforters, or maybe a Mr. propane heater... Enjoy!

Welcome and congrats on your purchase. We drove about 3 1/2 hours (one way) away to get ours. Saved quite a bit. Found that we needed warranty work after our first camp. Was not happy about the idea of driving 3+ hours each way and then back again to pick her up. Found out that as long as you have a dealer nearby that sells the same manufacturer, that they may honor your warranty. The only catch that I found was that in our particular situation we had to pay the full total up front, then submit your receipts and invoices to the selling dealer for reimbursement. We got the total amount back, did not even have to pay the deductible, which may have been a clerical error on their part. Your results may vary but just wanted to give my two cents. Congrats again.

Thank you for the warranty information. My local dealer pretty much told me that they would not work on any warranty issues. Now they would be happy for my business for repair work... If I need warranty work, I`ll definitely make this a discussion item with them. I figured if I were to buy a used trailer, I wouldn`t have a warranty. I paid $11,000 for this new 2018 Wolf Pup, which is probably not too much more for what I would have paid for a used one. That being said, I`ll still pursue it under the warranty claim if an issue comes up beyond what i can do. Thanks again for the info.

If you do need warranty work I have seen (well read technically) people contact fr and they will find someone reasonably close to you that will do the warranty work.
