Forest River Newbies

Greetings from Washington state!
My husband and I purchased our Surveyor Sport from my dad a year ago. It's been a fantastic investment so far! We have taken many trips to Darrington where we have our camper set up for the summer on my father inlaws property. There's a lot of work involved in the process even without hauling it every time but it's worth it to not have to deal with sleeping in a tent with a toddler or keeping food in a cooler!!

We're in the process of selling our home and are looking at living in the camper for a bit.
I joined this forum to find ideas and insight into the mostly-full-time-camper-life. I'll be specifically looking for storage ideas, foldable or rollable mattress info for the dinette and insight into how to fix the outside shower..it leaks water from the fittings behind the shroud but we haven't had a chance to address it yet so, we just don't use it. Which is a bummer..
We've also never dumped a camper tank yet so we're really looking forward to that first time experience 🥴..

Any tips, tricks, suggestions or ideas for keeping the camper dry, clean and in great shape is greatly appreciated. Also any must have/get suggestions or anything to absolutely NOT do with a camper during the year or at specific times would be greatly appreciated. My dad and stepmom used it for summer trips and lived in it for about 6 months but they didn't use the outside kitchen or the outside shower so we've had to learn a few things on the go. We almost burnt up the hot water tank the first time because we didn't know about the valves under the bathroom sink😬. Thankfully we were able to figure it out and didn't have to replace the unit.

Excited to learn and share adventures with you!
